In this series of games, your students will learn to use place value understanding to round decimals to any place. Concepts Covered

While moving to the right across the places in a number, the digits represent smaller units. The rule for rounding to any place is to determine if the unit to the immediate right of the place value rounding to has a digit that is 4 or below. If so, the digits to the right of the place will be rounded to 0 and the digit remains the same. If the digit to the immediate right is 5 or greater, then the digits to the right are rounded to 0 and the digit being rounded moves up one consecutive number. Round to the tenth, hundredth as well as any whole number value.

Round Decimals To Any Place Estimated Duration: 4 minutes Using a number line to round numbers to the hundredths and to the thousandths.

Newton Pool Estimated Duration: 15 minutes The game consists of hand-crafted levels where the player controls a white ball. The goal of each level is to get the white ball to the end of the level in as few moves as possible, while racking up points by bumping golden balls into obstacles on the way! The game does not have any instructional math content, it simply has math review questions spread throughout.
