Concepts Covered

The number line is extended to the left of the number line to include negative numbers. Recognize 0 as neither negative nor positive. Zero has no value and can be used as a measuring point for value. The opposite of 0 is 0. A number with opposite signs is equidistant from 0 on the number line in opposite directions. The opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself. Identify the opposite of a number with or without a number line diagram.
