Multiply And Divide Rational Numbers Math Games

4 games

In this series of games, your students will learn to apply the properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide rational numbers. The Multiply And Divide Rational Numbers learning objective — based on CCSS and state standards — delivers improved student engagement and academic performance in your classroom, as demonstrated by research. This learning objective directly references 7.NS.A.2.c as written in the common core national math standards.

Concepts Covered

The rule for multiplying or dividing signed numbers is positive x negative = negative, negative x positive = negative, and negative x negative = positive. When expressing division as fractions the entire term is considered negative. Use rules for integers to multiply any signed rational numbers.

Multiplication and division of signed numbers can have more than 2 terms. Multiplication and division of multiple signed numbers follow the rule of an even number of negative signed numbers will yield a positive product or quotient and an odd number of negatives will yield a negative product or quotient.
