Division Of Rational Numbers Math Games

3 games

In this series of games, your students will learn that integers can be divided, provided that the divisor is not zero, and every quotient of integers is a rational number. The Division Of Rational Numbers learning objective — based on CCSS and state standards — delivers improved student engagement and academic performance in your classroom, as demonstrated by research. This learning objective directly references 7.NS.A.2.b as written in the common core national math standards.

Concepts Covered

Use properties to show the division of rational numbers (with negative numbers). The rule for dividing signed numbers is positive ÷ negative = negative, negative ÷ positive = negative, and negative ÷ negative = positive. Use real-world context to explain divisions of signed numbers. Use mathematical reasoning and understanding of multiplication to prove rules for the division of signed numbers. When expressing division as fractions the entire term is considered negative.
