Concepts Covered

Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common to see which object has “more of” or “less of” the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller or shorter.

High Five - Volume Estimated Duration: 5 minutes Mathling twins have filled different containers with liquid to check whose container has more or less volume. Check which container has either the most or least liquid and give the mathling twin a high five for getting the right volume! In this game by Zapzapmath, check the difference between the total volume of liquid in 2 different containers.

High Five - Height Estimated Duration: 5 minutes Mathling twins have invented a way to change their height but it will always make the twins have different heights. Help them out by giving the shorter or taller mathling twin a "High Five Glove." Identify which mathling is taller or shorter by high fives!

High Five - Weight Estimated Duration: 5 minutes Mathling twins have brought different bags with them that have different weights. They are adding or removing things inside of their bag to compare whose bag is heavier or lighter. Check which bag is the heaviest or the lightest and give the mathling twin a high five for getting the right weight!

Galaxy Escape Estimated Duration: 20 minutes 10 Bright Monsters have been captured in space and they need your help to cross the galaxy jumping between platforms, finding them, and releasing them by correctly answering each question. Each monster that you release and unlock will be available to play with in the next level, in the search for the next monster. In your journey, you’ll be able to find power-ups, like ‘Double points’ and ‘Slow down’, which can be activated by finding gems, and their duration can be extended by correctly answering a question. Unlock and release the 10 different monsters and a spaceship along 10 different levels, while you make the most possible points.

Organize objects into ten-frames to visually compare which has more, or whether the number of objects are equal. Be creative in how subtraction is modeled.
