Math Games - What's New

We’re right in the midst of the holiday season and about to ring in a new year! And with all of that it, we are bringing you a new batch of math classroom games this month!. We’re excited to tell you more about these new math classroom games launching in the Learning Universe for your students this month. If you missed last month’s post you can take a look at November’s update here.

Before we jump into these new games, we wanted to tell you briefly what you’ll find below:  all of our new games are listed first with brief descriptions, followed by a few featured games with more information about them.

  • Join Kenzo in his morning run in the jungle and use your knowledge of Round Whole Numbers To Any Place to unencrypt the magic scrolls and solve their puzzles. Find Ninja Kite: Digits and Dragons featured further on in this post.
  • Use cute monsters as numbers to sharpen your skills in Fluently Add Or Subtract Within 1000 in Math Monsters.
  • Join Captain Jack on his adventure across the seas! Collect coins, avoid obstacles, and find treasure while learning to Fluently Add And Subtract Using The Standard Algorithm in Number Number on The Wall: The Pirates Puzzle.
  • Learn more about Unlike Denominators by solving fractions and sharing the treasure with your crew members in Pirates And Adventurers: Treasure Island.
  • Join Kenzo in another ninja adventure and learn how to Round Decimals To Any Place by solving puzzles in Ninja Kite: The Rounding Ronin.

Power of the Magic Tree — Elementary Math (Fluently Add and Subtract Within 1000)

The player takes control of Sir Descartes, an adventurer in search of power. He needs to collect magic fruits, but not all fruits are good. He needs to use his skills in adding and subtracting to pick the right fruit. But be careful, in some cases, the magical fruits involve negative numbers, are you ready for the challenge?

Food Truck Finance — Elementary Math (5th Grade Personal Financial Literacy)

Ninja Kite: Digits and Dragons — Elementary Math (Round Whole Numbers To Any Place)

Embark on an epic ninja adventure as Kenzo, racing through a lush jungle in this action-packed game. Navigate challenging terrain in a pixelated style. To succeed, Kenzo must not only maintain his physical stamina but also sharpen his mind by solving puzzles rounding to the nearest ten or hundred. As you solve the math problems, Hanzo will teach you how to round up or round down depending on the position of the number. Is it above halfway? Is it below halfway?
