Hi Legends! Welcome to another exciting update from our Learning Universe! This March, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the latest additions to our ever-expanding array of science classroom games, designed to engage and inspire your students. If you missed last month’s new games you can take a look at February’s update here.

Before we jump into these new games, a note on what you will find below:  all of our new games are listed first with brief descriptions, followed by a few featured games with more information about them.

March into Learning, New Science Classroom Games! — March 2024

New Games in Grades 3-5

  • Learn how matter flows between living organisms while applying your knowledge of Cycles of Matter and Energy Transfer in Ecosystems in Chipslide.
  • Become an Eco Explorer and discover Natural Resources like wind, coal, and oil in Earth, Wind, and Fire.

New Games in Grades 6-8

  • Delve into the mysterious cave and solve minigames using your bow to learn more about Potential Energy. Find Cave Adventure: A Potential Energy Story featured further on in this post.
  • Join the tornado chaser team on this whirlwind adventure! Travel in the van and collect data using the instruments for Weather Prediction. Find Tornado Chasers featured further on in this post.
  • Help Kusaro and Kunaro rescue the Motu-Motu’s population from Natural Hazards. Find Kuroro Island Rescue featured further on in this post.
  • Play around the Geological Park to help 8, our robotic friend, reconstruct The Rock Cycle!
  • The Great Bottish Baking Show kitchens are now open! Audit every recipe and learn more about the Conservation of Matter in Chemical Reactions in Chemistry Chefs.

A Closer Look at Featured Games

Cave Adventure: A Potential Energy Story — Midde Science (Potential Energy)

Game screenshot and description:

2D platform game about potential energy. The player controls a character who can jump and shoot its bow to break ropes and release suspended rocks or magnets. There are also mini-games about related concepts that test what the player has learned.

Tornado Chasers — Middle Science (Weather Prediction)

Game screenshot and description:

Join the Tornado Chasers in an adventure to learn about Weather Prediction, Weather Characteristics, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. Collect coins on the road while learning about the characteristics and uses of weather tools such as thermometers, barometers, anemometers, etc.

Kuroro Island Rescue— Middle Science (Natural Hazards)

Game screenshot and description:

Guide chibi characters of Kuroro through Motu-Motu Island, building hazard detection tools and rescuing residents. Face challenges, explore the island, and learn about natural hazards on this exciting adventure.
