Digital Promise Certification Awarded to Legends of Learning’s Math Basecamp
Math Basecamp is an online math fact fluency suite of learning materials that earned the Digital Promise certification for Research-Based Design. This Product Certification serves as a rigorous, reliable signal for district and school leaders, educators, and families looking for ed-tech products with a confirmed basis in research and learning. Legends of Learning’s Math Basecamp employs research-proven fact fluency and mastery learning methods, in an engaging game-based learning environment to build student fact mastery, confidence, and grit.
Math Basecamp has three phases: (1) Foundations, (2) Mastery, and (3) Application. The foundations and applications phases consist of lesson plans and mini-games for conceptual development and application. The Mastery phase employs an individualized, adaptive instructional game.
Math Basecamp’s five-step mastery approach integrates research-proven techniques.
- Individualizing instruction based on assessment of each learner’s fact mastery.
- Activating prior knowledge developed during the fact fluency foundations phase.
- Relying on the thoroughly-vetted cover-copy-compare method to study facts.
