Play, Learn, and Earn
One of the biggest additions in Awakening 0.7.7 is the introduction of loot boxes. Now, when players complete assignments or engage with learning games and videos recommended by Tuto, they’ll earn special boxes filled with exciting digital goodies.
Picture this: a student finishes a challenging math game, cracks open a loot box and discovers an awesome avatar effect that makes their in-world character sparkle with confidence.
Regular vs. Premium
Every player receives two types of loot boxes—regular and premium—both stored in a shiny new tab within their inventory.
Anyone can open regular boxes, but premium boxes are exclusively available to our subscribers!
Effects and Treats That Keep Students & Teachers Motivated
Inside your loot boxes, you’ll find effects and treats. Effects might temporarily transform players’ avatars, while treats can boost Beasties (the friendly creatures accompanying students).
Just imagine a student walking into a math challenge with a swirl of glowing effects around their avatar, ready to conquer the next learning quest!
Guiding Students to the Right Grade and Subject
Set It and Forget It
To ensure that students remain focused and on track, Awakening 0.7.7 restricts changing grade levels once you’ve selected your ideal range.
By guiding learners toward content tailored to their grade and subject, teachers can ensure that students don’t stray off into material that’s too easy or too hard. This is especially helpful in a classroom setting, where consistent curriculum alignment is crucial for student success.
A More Engaging Classroom Experience
Teacher Customization Achievement
Who doesn’t love a personal touch? Teachers who customize their avatars or virtual classrooms will now earn a special achievement. This sends a subtle but powerful message: creativity and personalization in education matters.
A teacher might switch their virtual classroom to a festive Christmas theme during the holidays, or go for a cool Ice Cave aesthetic during a winter lesson. These visual cues can spark enthusiasm and make each learning session feel fresh and exciting.
Default Whiteboard Text
For classes where the teacher hasn’t yet dipped their toes into customization, a friendly whiteboard message will remind students that their teacher can make changes.
It’s a gentle nudge to encourage more engaged classroom setups—like adding inspirational quotes, highlighting the day’s goals, or celebrating student successes.
More Visible and Accessible Guidance
Red Diamond Indicators on Battlers
If your students enjoy the competitive spirit of Awakening’s “battler” challenges, they’ll now see a clear red diamond indicator when another player or non-playable character is ready to battle.
This quick visual cue helps everyone jump right into the action without confusion.
In Game Riders
To keep the world feeling alive and dynamic for players, they can see non-player characters (NPCs) riding Beasties near the gondola and in the Hall of Beasties.
This tiny detail adds a spark of realism and encourages students to interact with their environment—and maybe strike up a conversation with a friendly NPC for a quick lesson or tip.
TTS on Promos
Text-to-Speech (TTS) now accompanies certain promotional pop-ups, like the “Play from Home” and “Adventure Pass” prompts. This helps ensure that all learners, including those who may struggle with reading or are still building their literacy skills, can fully understand the opportunities available to them.
Celebrating Growth and Achievements
Subscription Rewards and Local Currency
The subscription process is now more transparent and personalized, with local currencies displayed in the subscription UI on Android and iOS. After subscribing, players receive a celebratory popup that visually displays the monthly subscription rewards.
This extra flourish makes the experience more rewarding—students can see exactly what they’re working toward, from new classroom themes to unique avatar effects.
