Science Games for Summer Fun! — June 2022

As school gets out for summer the learning does not have to end. Keep your students knowledge sharp with these hot new science games!

New in Grades 3-5 

  • Embark on an adventure-filled road trip in  Weather Road! Use the power of observation and weather forecasting  instruments to help predict the weather along your trip. Avoid harsh weather conditions and road obstacles! Find Weather Road featured further on in this post.
  • In  Tina’s Adventures: Clouds and Ocean join Tina on her father’s transatlantic cruise ship as they travel the high seas! Learn about different types of clouds, weather patterns, and forecasting instruments as you travel from country to country. 
  • Learn about how the Geosphere, Hydrosphere, and Biosphere interact and perform vital Earth functions in  Space Cargo – Earth Material Systems. Work as an astronaut delivering packages to a space station using a space elevator. Find Space Cargo featured further on in this post.

New in Grades 6-8

  • Join DocDuck on another daring adventure in  DocDuck: Parts of Cell! DocDuck has shrunk to a cellular size allowing him to observe organelles! Pass through ribosomes, membranes, mitochondria, the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus, and lysosomes. All the way to the nucleus we go!
  • In Molecule Maker the player assumes the role of a robot alien scientist experimenting with molecules. Learn about elements and their chemical symbols as you experiment with how they bond together to make different compounds. Find Molecule Maker featured further on in this post. 

Updates to Existing Games in Grades 3-5

  • Food Webs: Adventure of Energy (Elem) now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. Join the fairy Elva as she teachers students about ecosystems and their constituent organisms’ roles.
  • Deep Sea Adventure (Elem) now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. Explore and become part of the food chain as different sea creatures!
  • Speedy’s Adventure  has been updated to support all screen resolutions. Join Speedy and her fairy companion on an epic quest using the power of speed and energy.

Updates to Existing Games in Grades 6-8

  • Robo Ready is updated with minor bug fixes and a shortened tutorial, so you can jump right in to saving Robolandia from natural hazards!   
  • Lunar Snap  is updated so the number of required captures submitted for each lunar phase is only 1 instead of 2. A button has been added to the top left corner of the mission view that toggles a panel that will display a labeled image of each moon phase. Amy the Astronaut now sends messages highlighting and briefly explaining the time slider, photo filter buttons, and end mission button as a tutorial.
  • Save the Fish  has received performance optimizing upgrades and bug fixes. Help the fish escape his bowl and travel through the sewers using the states of matter!
  • DocDuck: Scientific Method offers an improved tutorial and is optimized for better game performance. Join DocDuck on his quest through space and discover the scientific method
  • Little Newton in The Energy of Motion  now has text to speech, can save game playthroughs, and offer Spanish. It also has more new sound effects! Little Newton will learn new skills that help them get through each level. Solve kinetic energy related puzzles and complete all six levels to return Newton to their home.
  • Little Newton in The Force of Energy   now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. The game’s user interface has been upgraded, extra puzzles h added, and the game was shortened from 8 levels to 6. Help Little Newton find their way home by guiding them to the end of the level using energy, and avoid the obstacles!
  • Deep Sea Adventure (Mid) now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. Explore and become part of the food chain as different sea creatures. 
  • Merlin’s Tower (Mid) now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. Navigate Merlin’s Tower using your spells and knowledge on states of matter. Complete the tasks appointed to you and you can free yourself from the tower!
  • Food Webs: Adventure of Energy (MID) now has text to speech, saves progress checkpoints, and offers a Spanish translation. Join the fairy Elva as she helps teach students about ecosystems and their constituent organisms’ roles.
  • Atomic Boy  has received an update with major bug fixes and general gameplay improvements. Help Atomic Boy build an atom  while learning about subatomic particles and models.

A leading Space Trading Company has come up with the excellent idea of launching a Space Elevator. Space Cargo gives the player a feeling of excitement traveling to Space! Choose your astronaut to ride in the Space Elevator. The astronaut carries the cargo and delivers the package to the required space station. Molecule Maker – Middle Science (Molecules and Compounds)
