Concepts Covered

Understand that algorithms for multiplication and division are abbreviations for reasoning about quantities. See quotients as multiples of 10, 100, or 1000 and one-digit numbers. Use area models to model division. Find the unknown length of a rectangle given the width. In multi-digit division, find the greatest multiple less than a given number. Use the greatest multiple in terms of grouping quantities. Use equations to model the greatest multiple. Divide two-, three-, and four-digit numbers by one-digit numbers without remainders. Divide two-, three-, and four-digit numbers by one-digit numbers with remainders.
