Prime, Composite, and Factor Pairs Math Games

In this series of games, your students will learn how to find all factor pairs for a whole number in the range 1-100. The Prime, Composite, and Factor Pairs learning objective — based on CCSS and state standards — delivers improved student engagement and academic performance in your classroom, as demonstrated by research. This learning objective directly references 4.OA.B.4 as written in the common core national math standards.

Concepts Covered

All numbers used are whole numbers. All factor pairs are for numbers 1 – 100. Factors being found are 1 digit factors for numbers 1-100. Factors are numbers multiplied to get a specific product. Prime numbers have exactly two factors, themselves and 1. Determine if a number (1-100) is prime or composite by looking for factors. All even numbers greater than 2 are composite. The number 1 is neither prime or composite. Composite numbers have more than 2 factors. All whole numbers are multiples of each of its factors. Listing multiples to determine if a number is a factor is strategy to determine if a number is a factor. Find all factors of a given number, listed or written as factor pairs.
