Slope-Intercept Equations Math Games

3 games

In this series of games, your students will learn to use the equation of a linear model to solve problems in the context of bivariate measurement data. The Slope-Intercept Equations learning objective — based on CCSS and state standards — delivers improved student engagement and academic performance in your classroom, as demonstrated by research. This learning objective directly references 8.SP.A.3 as written in the common core national math standards.

Concepts Covered

Graph bivariate measurement data from an equation that associates two variables. Interpret the graph of a linear model in the context of a problem. After a line is fit through the data, the slope of the line is approximated and interpreted as a rate of change. Analyze the line of best fit in the context of the variables. Use the line of best fit to solve problems.

Wizard Graph Estimated Duration: 8 minutes Graph points and follow the line of best fit formula to predict data!
Image for Solve Problems with Slope-Intercept Equations
Solve Problems with Slope-Intercept Equations Estimated Duration: 5 minutes Ever wondered how scientists predict plant growth or how you can forecast savings over time? Stick around, because by the end of this lesson, you’ll know how to use graphs to solve real-life problems like a pro!
Image for Basketball Master
Basketball Master Estimated Duration: 12 minutes Shoot a basketball through the hoop and answer some questions along the way! The game does not have any instructional content, it simply has review questions spread throughout.
Image for Galaxy Escape
Galaxy Escape Estimated Duration: 20 minutes 10 Bright Monsters have been captured in space and they need your help to cross the galaxy jumping between platforms, finding them, and releasing them by correctly answering each question. Each monster that you release and unlock will be available to play with in the next level, in the search for the next monster. In your journey, you’ll be able to find power-ups, like ‘Double points’ and ‘Slow down’, which can be activated by finding gems, and their duration can be extended by correctly answering a question. Unlock and release the 10 different monsters and a spaceship along 10 different levels, while you make the most possible points.
