Ratios To Convert Measurement Units Math Games

3 games

In this series of games, your students will learn how to use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units, and how to manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities. The Ratios To Convert Measurement Units learning objective — based on CCSS and state standards — delivers improved student engagement and academic performance in your classroom, as demonstrated by research. This learning objective directly references 6.RP.A.3.d as written in the common core national math standards.

Concepts Covered

Use relationships given by unit rates to correctly convert between units. Given a unit, convert to express in another unit of different sizes by setting up the ratio and cross multiplying and dividing. When setting up a ratio, the units on the top and bottom of both equivalent ratios must be consistent. Problems can be solved by multiplying or dividing the unit rate for a measure. Understand the concept of Pi as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.
