Ratio Concept And Language Math Games

Concepts Covered
Ratios happen when there are two or more quantities related. Ratios can have the same units or different units. The term Ratio can be used for same and different units as well. Ratios can be represented as words. Ratios can be expressed using a colon. When expressed as x parts to y parts units may be included.
Ratios have associated rates that relate to the unit ratio (5 feet in 3 seconds has a rate of 5/3 feet for every 1 second). Ratios are expressed as “for each” and “per” There is more than one correct way to express a ratio, all ways are interchangeable. Special attention to the correct placement of units is key.
